Trans-Mongolian route in Winter

Travelling in the low season has many benefits: restaurants and cafes are not as busy as in the summer; there are less queues to the famous sights; and you have an opportunity to have great local experience.

Trains

Our groups travel in 2nd class soft sleeper trains (4 people per cabin). There is enough space to store luggage in compartments under beds and above the cabin's door. Trains stop in major cities for 10-20 minutes, and passengers can go outside to stretch their legs. There are plenty of small shops on the platforms for those who want to buy local food.

Food

Trying local food is one of the best travel experiences. Don't miss Omul fish on Lake Baikal, dumplings in China and airag (fermented mare's milk) in Mongolia.
