My name is Masha. I am a freelance Tour Leader and Fully Independent Tour itinerary specialist based in Bangkok. For over 8 years I have worked as a Tour Leader, Regional Operations Manager and amongst other things, an accountant for a number of international adventure travel companies. Although I live in Thailand, my real home is on the road, searching out that next exciting destination.

I create trips and lead small group journeys in Russia, China, Mongolia, SE Asia, Central Asia, Iran, Armenia and Eastern Europe.

I started 'It’s Journey Time' because I want to share my love and experience of travelling in all the far flung corners of Asia. I love to show people destinations that are rarely visited by travellers, be that back streets of a small Iranian town, green mountains of Armenia, endless blue waters of Lake Baikal, yaks in the steppes of Mongolia or the countless other wonders out there waiting to be explored.  I enjoy sharing mouth-watering local dishes with my groups or simply guiding in famous places during seasons when tourist masses stay away.

The countries I lead trips to often get controversial (or even negative) media coverage. My goal is to make people aware that as soon as you look past all the visa formalities, the difficulties in finding out information and waiting for responses from local hotels, there are incredible and friendly people just waiting to greet you. They welcome you in their countries, open their homes for you, and make sure you never leave hungry. Out there, there are hundreds of sights you’ve been reading about in text books; they are just waiting to be discovered by those with a curious mind.

I’ve led over 30 Trans-Mongolian trips, and still love every single day on this historical route. I’ve travelled in Iran and Central Asia with groups and on my own, and every single experience has been a positive one.

Come and travel with me – I’ll take you to all my favourite places!
